Students in Dubai returning to classrooms from April 20 will take part in safety awareness drills and orientation sessions during their first week back on campus. The initiative comes as part of a carefully managed transition to in-person learning after weeks of remote education linked to regional tensions involving the United States, Iran, and Israel.
Authorities have emphasised a phased reopening strategy, placing strong focus on student safety, wellbeing, and operational readiness. Schools have been instructed to implement structured programmes that help students readjust to classroom routines while addressing emotional wellbeing.
According to Knowledge and Human Development Authority, all institutions must meet strict requirements before resuming on-site learning. These include approval of emergency plans, safety certifications, staff training, and compliance with designated safe zone protocols.
Officials also confirmed that no school or educational institution will be allowed to reopen without prior approval. Some facilities will undergo inspections before reopening, with continued monitoring after classes resume.
The return to in-person education is part of a coordinated nationwide decision, with authorities continuing to assess the situation and provide updates through official channels.
