Google Rolls Out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 With Major Bug Fixes

California: Google has released the Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 update for eligible Pixel smartphones and tablets, bringing several important bug fixes and performance improvements ahead of the operating system’s stable release later this year.

The update is available for the Google Pixel 6 and newer Pixel devices, as well as the Google Pixel Tablet. According to Google, the latest beta addresses multiple issues reported by testers, including a bug that caused the mouse pointer to disappear on external displays and a problem that led to crashes in the Settings app when accessing credential provider settings from a Private Space.

Google has also fixed issues affecting screenshot notification sound controls, allowing users to take silent screenshots without reducing alert volumes. Other improvements include fixes for camera video jitter at 5x zoom, Back Tap gesture failures on the lock screen, and graphics driver-related performance drops.

The first Android 17 developer beta was released in February, giving developers and enthusiasts early access to upcoming features. While beta versions often contain bugs, the latest update focuses on improving stability and user experience as Google moves closer to the final public release.
