Kuwait City: Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) has announced that Kuwait advanced five places in the 2026 Global Competitiveness Index published by the International Institute for Management Development.
According to Nazaha, Kuwait ranked 31st out of 70 countries in the 2026 edition of the index, compared to 36th out of 69 countries in 2025. The country also improved its overall score from 68.69 out of 100 last year to 70.13 out of 100 this year.
The authority stated that the improvement reflects positive performance across several areas of the index, particularly in economic performance and business efficiency, which contributed to strengthening Kuwait’s competitiveness at the international level.
Officials noted that the progress highlights ongoing efforts to enhance the country’s economic environment, improve institutional performance and support sustainable development objectives.
The Global Competitiveness Index is widely used to assess the ability of countries to create and maintain an environment that supports business growth, productivity and long-term economic prosperity.
