Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has launched a new digital service allowing motorists to download and store their driving licence electronically through the Sahel government services application.
With the new feature, eligible drivers can securely keep a digital copy of their driving licence on their smartphones and present it whenever required during official inspections, reducing the need to carry the physical licence card.
The initiative is part of Kuwait’s ongoing digital transformation strategy, aimed at simplifying government services, promoting paperless transactions and improving access to official documents through a unified digital platform.
Officials said the service is available through the Sahel app, where users can access and download their electronic driving licence after logging into their accounts.
The Ministry of Interior encouraged all eligible motorists to use the new feature and benefit from faster, more convenient access to their official driving documents.
The latest addition further strengthens Kuwait’s efforts to modernise public services and expand digital government solutions for citizens and residents.
