Dubai Expands EV Charging Network at Majlis and Wedding Halls

Dubai: The Community Development Authority (CDA) has signed a strategic agreement with UAEV – Emarat EV Charging Stations Company to expand Dubai’s electric vehicle (EV) charging network by installing charging stations at community facilities, including Majlis, councils and wedding halls.

The initiative is designed to improve access to EV charging for residents and visitors while supporting the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategy and Dubai’s sustainable mobility goals.

Under the first phase of the project, EV charging stations have already been activated at Al Rashidiya Majlis, Al Barsha Majlis and Nad Al Sheba Majlis.

During 2026, the network will expand to Al Khawaneej Majlis, Al Warqa Majlis and Al Barsha Wedding Hall. A second phase planned for 2027 will add charging stations at Al Twar Wedding Hall, Al Awir Majlis and Hatta Majlis.

The partnership reinforces UAEV’s role as the country’s government-owned charge point operator while supporting CDA’s efforts to integrate environmentally friendly infrastructure into public facilities.

Sheikha Al Jarman, CEO of the Social Development Sector at the CDA, said the initiative aims to make sustainable transport more convenient, encourage the adoption of electric vehicles and promote environmentally responsible practices within local communities.

Officials said the expansion will improve access to EV charging while contributing to cleaner transportation and a higher quality of life across Dubai.
