Kuwait’s total population grew by 5% in 2025, reaching 5.23 million by year’s end. The increase was driven by a rise in the expatriate community, which expanded by 7.4% to 3.674 million, while the number of Kuwaiti citizens slightly declined by about 5,040 to 1.562 million.
The Indian community remained the largest expatriate group, exceeding 1.059 million. The workforce totaled 3.21 million, with the private sector employing the majority. Births rose by 5.5%, and deaths increased by 12.5% compared to 2024.
