China kept its key lending rates unchanged on Sunday, with the one-year loan prime rate (LPR) remaining at 3% and the five-year LPR staying at 3.5%, according to the National Interbank Funding Centre.
The one-year LPR, a market-based benchmark used by financial institutions for lending, was unchanged from the previous month.
The over-five-year LPR, which is widely used by lenders as a reference for mortgage rates, also remained at 3.5%, matching its previous reading.
The decision keeps both benchmark lending rates at their existing levels as China continues to manage monetary conditions and support economic activity.
The LPR is published monthly based on quotations submitted by a panel of banks and serves as a reference for pricing loans across the Chinese financial system.
