Kuwait has officially announced working hours for government agencies during the holy month of Ramadan under its flexible work schedule framework. According to the Civil Service Commission’s 2024 decision, government employees will work four and a half hours per day during Ramadan.
Staff will be allowed to start work at any time between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. under the newly introduced flexi-time system. The schedule is designed to meet the special needs of Ramadan while improving employee wellbeing and productivity during the holy month.
Departments operating evening shifts may also set working hours at four and a half hours. These shifts will begin after 6:45 p.m., with a 15-minute grace period at the start of duty and an additional 15-minute grace period at the end for female employees.
