Iran Airstrikes Trigger Security Measures Across Gulf

Heightened tensions across the Gulf region continue two weeks after Iranian airstrikes and drone attacks triggered security concerns in several countries.

In Oman, two foreign nationals were killed after a drone crashed in the Al Awahi Industrial Area in Sohar. Several others were injured in the incident. Another drone also fell in the same city, though no casualties were reported.

Authorities in Dubai have increased precautionary measures following threats against key economic areas including the Dubai International Financial Centre. Some companies have shifted employees to remote work and evacuated certain downtown office spaces as a safety measure.

Meanwhile, drone debris reportedly caused a fire near the Al Qusais Industrial Area in Dubai. Emergency teams responded quickly and no injuries were reported.

The United States Department of State has advised American citizens in Oman to leave the country on available flights if possible. The Embassy of the United States in Muscat also instructed Americans to remain indoors except for essential needs such as food, water and medical supplies.

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates said a building in central Dubai suffered minor damage after debris from intercepted missiles fell on the structure.

UAE officials reported that the country has faced multiple aerial threats since the start of the conflict, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones. Diplomatic adviser to the UAE president Anwar Gargash said the strong international response at the United Nations Security Council reflects global opposition to the attacks.

UAE Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei said the country’s fuel supply remains stable despite earlier incidents affecting energy facilities in Fujairah. He confirmed that operations there have returned to normal.

Elsewhere in the Gulf, Bahrain reported intercepting more than 190 drones and over 100 missiles since the escalation began. In Saudi Arabia, authorities said dozens of drone attacks were recorded in the central and eastern provinces.

Officials across the region continue to monitor the situation closely as security forces remain on high alert.
