Dubai: Dubai Airports has introduced a new Smart Gates Pre-Eligibility Verification service that allows travellers to instantly check whether they are eligible to use the airport’s automated Smart Gates before reaching passport control.
Developed in partnership with the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), the new service provides passengers with immediate confirmation of their eligibility, helping them choose the fastest immigration route before arriving at the checkpoint.
According to Dubai Airports, the initiative is designed to reduce uncertainty during the immigration process, improve passenger flow and make journeys through Dubai International Airport (DXB) quicker and more efficient.
The airport operator said the latest enhancement forms part of its ongoing efforts to modernise passenger services and deliver a smoother, more seamless travel experience for the millions of travellers who pass through Dubai International Airport each year.
Officials added that the new verification system will help minimise delays at immigration counters by allowing eligible passengers to proceed directly to the automated Smart Gates, improving overall operational efficiency.
