Kuwait Raises KD 16.5 Million to Support Citizens in Debt

Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Ministry of Justice has successfully concluded a fundraising campaign aimed at helping citizens settle outstanding debts, collecting a total of KD 16.5 million.

Justice Minister Nasser Al Sumait said the campaign received contributions from 138,328 donors, reflecting strong community participation during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency, the minister highlighted that the initiative demonstrated the spirit of solidarity and humanitarian values within Kuwaiti society.

He confirmed that the collected funds will be used to settle the debts of eligible citizens through the General Directorate of Execution, following all approved legal procedures.

Authorities assured that the distribution process will be carried out transparently and efficiently to ensure the funds reach those in need.

The minister also expressed appreciation to institutions, banks, companies, organisations and individuals who supported the initiative, noting that their contributions will help ease the burden on indebted families and support social stability.

He further expressed hope for the continued security and stability of Kuwait under the leadership of the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al Hamad Al Sabah.
