Authorities in Abu Dhabi have introduced comprehensive safety guidelines aimed at protecting students throughout their daily journey from home to school and back. The initiative is part of the “Our Community is Ready” campaign, launched jointly by the Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Centre, Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, and the Abu Dhabi Media Office.
The new standards, which will remain in place for the rest of the academic year and into 2026, focus on strengthening preparedness and response to emergencies within the education sector. Officials emphasised that ensuring student safety is a shared responsibility requiring cooperation from schools, parents, and the wider community.
The guidelines outline clear roles for all stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, and school transport staff. Parents are specifically advised to rely only on official information during emergencies, avoid spreading rumours, and refrain from collecting children from schools unless instructed by authorities.
They are also encouraged to keep contact details updated with schools and provide emotional support to children during crisis situations. Authorities said the initiative aims to build a resilient and secure learning environment capable of effectively handling emergencies.
