Kuwait Airways announces gradual increase in flights from Kuwait Airport

Kuwait Airways has confirmed that it is gradually increasing the number of flights operating from Kuwait International Airport through Terminal 4 under a phased operational plan coordinated with relevant authorities.

The airline said current operations remain partial, with flights from Terminal 4 operating between eight and 10 hours daily due to ongoing security and operational safety considerations. Foreign transit flights stopping at Kuwait Airport also remain temporarily suspended.

According to the company, the phased expansion is being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to ensure smooth and secure flight operations.

To meet increasing passenger demand ahead of Eid Al Adha, Kuwait Airways has increased flights to London by adding one extra daily service.

The airline also explained that some flights scheduled for May are being rescheduled due to the transfer of operations from King Fahd International Airport in Saudi Arabia back to Kuwait Airport.

Officials noted that new international approvals and operating permits are required for flights departing directly from Kuwait, as permits previously issued for Dammam based operations cannot automatically be applied to Kuwait departures.

Kuwait Airways stressed that flight rescheduling does not mean cancellation, but is intended to organise schedules according to updated permits and operational capacity. The company assured passengers that affected travellers will receive alternative travel dates as close as possible to their original bookings.

Passengers impacted by schedule changes will also be offered flexible options including full ticket refunds or retaining the booking value as credit in their electronic wallet for future travel.

The airline said its current focus is on balancing the travel needs of citizens and residents while maintaining the highest standards of operational safety and security until full services gradually resume.

Customers have been advised to monitor reservations and make bookings through the airline’s official website, mobile application or sales offices.
