Kuwait customs foils attempt to smuggle 4,600 grams of narcotics from UK

General Administration of Customs has foiled two separate attempts to smuggle narcotic substances into Kuwait through postal shipments arriving from the United Kingdom.

According to customs officials, the shipments raised suspicion after authorities discovered that the descriptions of the package contents had been deliberately manipulated to conceal the actual materials inside.

In the first case, one parcel was labelled as “wax.” After inspection, customs officers found four containers filled with a transparent viscous liquid.

Samples from the seized material were sent to the General Department of Criminal Evidence for laboratory testing.

Authorities later confirmed that the liquid contained derivatives of a narcotic chemical substance commonly referred to as “chemical liquid,” with the total seized quantity weighing approximately 2,400 grams.

Following the discovery, customs officials coordinated with the Customs Investigation and Research Office to complete legal procedures and secure the seized substances.

In a separate incident, another shipment arriving from the United Kingdom and declared as “wash” was also flagged during inspection procedures.

Customs officers discovered two containers filled with a transparent liquid hidden inside the package. Laboratory examination later confirmed the presence of narcotic derivatives similar to those found in the first shipment.

The second seizure weighed approximately 2,200 grams, bringing the combined quantity confiscated in both operations to around 4,600 grams.

Authorities said seizure reports were prepared in both cases while investigations continue to identify and apprehend those involved in the smuggling attempts.

The General Administration of Customs stressed that inspection teams continue strengthening monitoring procedures for incoming shipments and are intensifying anti smuggling operations through close coordination with relevant security authorities.

Officials also reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and protecting the country from illegal narcotics entering through postal and shipping channels.
