General Fire Force has urged citizens and residents in Kuwait to follow strict home safety measures and pay close attention to children’s behaviour to help prevent fires and accidents.
Brigadier General Mohammed Al Gharib, Director of Public Relations and Media and official spokesperson for the Fire Department, stressed that prevention begins with family awareness and proper supervision.
He advised parents to keep lighters, matches and flammable materials away from children and avoid leaving them unattended near electrical appliances or heat sources.
The Fire Department also warned against overloading electrical circuits and using low quality electrical connections, which could trigger short circuits and dangerous fires.
Officials said operating multiple high power appliances through a single electrical socket significantly increases fire risks inside homes.
The department further urged residents to regularly inspect electrical appliances and switch them off when not in use to reduce the possibility of accidents.
Authorities also encouraged households to install smoke detectors and fire extinguishers as important safety precautions that can help reduce damage and save lives during emergencies.
Brigadier Al Gharib stated that the Fire Department will continue spreading public awareness messages and preventive guidelines through different media platforms to strengthen community safety culture.
Officials added that promoting fire prevention awareness remains essential for protecting lives and property while reducing the number of home accidents and emergencies.
Residents were also reminded to immediately contact emergency services through the 112 hotline in case of fire incidents or other emergencies.
