The famous musical fountain at Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre in Kuwait has officially reopened after undergoing maintenance, restoring one of the country’s most popular cultural and entertainment attractions.
The reopening ceremony took place on Saturday evening in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al Ali and Sheikh Abdulaziz Meshaal Al Mubarak Al Sabah.
Popularly known as the Kuwait Opera House, the cultural centre first opened in 2016 and quickly became one of the region’s leading artistic and cultural destinations.
The musical fountain has long attracted visitors with its synchronized dancing water displays, colourful lighting effects, laser projections and music performances featuring national, Arabic and international melodies.
Officials said the reopening reflects Kuwait’s commitment to preserving and enhancing its major cultural and recreational landmarks.
The first performance after reopening was held on Saturday evening, with daily shows now scheduled for visitors.
According to the announced timetable, fountain shows will operate from 6 pm to 11 pm between Sunday and Wednesday.
On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, performances will be held in two sessions from 1 pm to 4 pm and again from 6 pm to 11 pm.
Authorities stated that the reopening forms part of wider efforts to strengthen Kuwait’s cultural infrastructure, improve recreational experiences and enrich the country’s artistic landscape.
The centre also thanked technical teams, engineers and staff members who participated in restoring the fountain and relaunching the attraction.
Officials invited citizens, residents and tourists to attend the fountain performances and accompanying artistic events held in the surrounding garden area.
Since its launch nearly a decade ago, the musical fountain has become one of Kuwait’s best known tourist landmarks, admired for its choreographed water formations, colourful visual displays and musical shows presented every half hour.
