What is Oggy Janata Party? Viral online group roasting Cockroach Janta Party explained

A new satirical online movement called the Oggy Janata Party has gone viral across Indian social media platforms after launching a parody campaign targeting the already trending Cockroach Janta Party.

Inspired by the animated television series Oggy and the Cockroaches, the Oggy Janata Party, often referred to as OJP, describes itself as a humorous counter movement challenging the narratives and online style of the Cockroach Janta Party.

The online rivalry between the two parody groups has quickly turned into a major trending topic, attracting millions of views, memes and reactions from social media users.

Through posts shared on Instagram and other platforms, OJP has questioned alleged political associations linked to individuals connected with the Cockroach Janta Party.

The group specifically referred to social media posts linked to Abhijeet Dipke, claiming he had earlier volunteered with Aam Aadmi Party during election and digital campaigns.

OJP also referenced an older post in which Dipke reportedly thanked former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for professional guidance.

The group’s slogan and messaging have also become part of the viral trend. According to its official website, the Oggy Janata Party states that its mission is to “eliminate all kinds of cockroaches,” using exaggerated satire to entertain followers online.

The parody movement additionally criticised what it described as excessive online political symbolism, posting images of Indian freedom fighters alongside commentary questioning young people embracing “cockroach” themed satire.

Despite its humorous tone, the group has also released a manifesto focused on animal welfare, adoption awareness, stricter cruelty laws and support for stray animals.

The organisation further used its platform to discuss public issues such as the NEET examination paper leak controversy, sharing posts demanding justice for students.

The Oggy Janata Party describes itself on Instagram as an independent satire movement “not backed by any political party.”

Since launching online, the account has reportedly crossed one million followers, becoming one of the fastest growing parody based social media trends in India.

The rise of groups like OJP and the Cockroach Janta Party highlights the growing popularity of internet driven political humour and meme based public commentary among younger audiences.
