The Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of a social media user accused of filming and publishing videos showing Kuwaiti air defence systems responding to incoming missiles.
According to the ministry, the arrest was made as part of ongoing monitoring of content circulated on social media platforms during the current regional security situation.
Authorities said the individual recorded and shared footage showing air defence operations intercepting missiles, an act officials described as harmful to public interest and contrary to national security and safety requirements.
Investigations also revealed that the suspect was using a mobile phone while driving to record the footage. The ministry said this resulted in a traffic accident, constituting an additional violation of traffic laws and regulations.
The Interior Ministry stressed that publishing or sharing images and videos related to military sites, security installations, defence operations or emergency response procedures is considered irresponsible and could negatively affect national security.
Officials reiterated that legal action will be taken against anyone found violating regulations related to the dissemination of sensitive security information.
The ministry urged citizens and residents to comply with official instructions and avoid sharing unverified or security-related content, particularly under the current exceptional regional circumstances.
Authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to enforcing the law and protecting public safety, warning that violations affecting national security will be dealt with firmly.
