Kuwait City: Kuwait has submitted a third official complaint to the International Civil Aviation Organization following a renewed attack that reportedly targeted radar systems at Kuwait International Airport.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the attack caused significant damage to airport radar infrastructure and affected air traffic management systems, resulting in temporary disruptions to flight operations. Reports also indicated that some individuals were injured during the incident.
Authorities temporarily suspended aviation services as a precautionary measure before resuming operations after implementing the necessary safety procedures and ensuring compliance with international aviation standards.
Kuwait’s civil aviation authorities stated that the attacks constitute a violation of the provisions of the Chicago Convention and international aviation laws. Officials stressed that such actions pose serious risks to passenger safety, flight crews and airport operations.
Kuwait has called on ICAO to take a firm stance against threats to civil aviation infrastructure and urged the international community to support efforts aimed at protecting global air transport systems.
Authorities also warned that further legal and diplomatic measures could be pursued under international law in response to attacks targeting civilian aviation facilities.
