Kuwait Municipality Launches ‘License Your Business’ Awareness Campaign

Kuwait City: Kuwait Municipality is launching a new awareness campaign titled “License Your Business… Your Steps Are Right” to encourage business owners to comply with municipal regulations, avoid violations and protect their investments.

The campaign will begin on Saturday and will feature a series of awareness messages targeting owners of different types of businesses across the country.

Mohammed Al-Sundan, Director of Public Relations and official spokesperson for Kuwait Municipality, said the initiative is designed to improve awareness of municipal laws, regulations and licensing requirements.

He explained that following the correct procedures can help businesses operate legally and sustainably while avoiding penalties that may include fines or even business closure.

The campaign will provide sector-specific guidance based on the nature of each business. These messages will explain the municipal requirements and procedures relevant to different commercial activities, making it easier for owners to understand and meet their obligations.

Another major focus will be on the most frequently recorded municipal violations. Business owners will be informed about common mistakes and the correct procedures to prevent violations before they occur.

According to Al-Sundan, compliance with municipal regulations is not only about avoiding penalties. Proper licensing and adherence to regulations can also protect investments, create a more stable business environment and improve the quality of services provided to consumers.

The municipality said the wider objective is to establish a sustainable and business-friendly environment while ensuring commercial activities contribute positively to Kuwait’s urban landscape.

Business owners have been encouraged to follow Kuwait Municipality’s official channels for regular guidance and awareness messages and to contact the municipality if they need clarification about licensing or other regulatory requirements.
