Abu Dhabi Police Warn E-Scooter Riders Against Unsafe Riding Practices

Abu Dhabi Police have urged electric scooter riders to follow traffic rules and essential safety measures, warning that careless riding and distractions can increase the risk of accidents and injuries.

Police advised riders to wear protective helmets and reflective clothing, use designated cycling and e-scooter lanes, travel in the correct direction and follow speed limits, traffic signs and road regulations. Riders should also remain alert and avoid behaviours that could affect their ability to control the scooter safely.

Authorities further warned against carrying passengers or heavy loads, as these can affect the scooter’s balance and stability. Riders have been encouraged to prioritise safety and follow designated routes to reduce risks for themselves and other road users.
