The Al Fareej Fridge initiative is providing relief to outdoor workers across Dubai during the intense summer heat. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai is participating in the third edition of the initiative, which focuses on supporting the wellbeing of workers contributing to the city’s development.
The initiative distributes cold water, juice and ice cream to workers employed outdoors, helping them stay hydrated and cope with heat stress and dehydration. It also serves as a gesture of appreciation for the efforts of workers who continue their duties in challenging weather conditions.
Led by the Dubai Furjan Foundation with support from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the campaign is being implemented in cooperation with Suqia UAE and the UAE Food Bank. Refrigerated vehicles deliver refreshments to workers at various locations, including construction sites, cleaning operations, delivery services, agriculture and road maintenance areas.
