Sharjah Police has launched an integrated traffic and safety plan for the 2026-27 academic year, with increased patrols around schools, stricter school bus inspections and enhanced emergency response measures. The initiative aims to protect students and improve traffic movement during busy school drop-off and pick-up periods.
Traffic patrols will be deployed at key roads and intersections near schools, while the Operations Centre will strengthen its readiness to receive reports and coordinate with field teams. Police will also intensify school bus inspections to ensure compliance with safety requirements, with drivers and supervisors receiving additional guidance on safely transporting students.
The plan also includes the Ma’man service, developed with the Sharjah Private Education Authority, which allows school bus drivers and supervisors to send an emergency alert directly to the police Operations Centre. The system identifies the bus’s location and enables the nearest patrol to respond quickly. Police will also visit schools and run the “Our First Lesson is Safety” awareness campaign for students, parents and motorists, focusing on safety, responsibility and positive behaviour.
