Kuwait Introduces QR Code System for Labor Inspections; Employers Get New Directive

Kuwait’s Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has instructed employers to clearly display the electronic attendance policy and a QR code at the entrance of workplaces to streamline labor inspection procedures. The new system will allow inspectors to scan the QR code and access attendance information, making it easier to verify employees’ working hours and attendance records.

PAM said the measure is intended to make workplace inspections more efficient while improving transparency and accuracy in the labor market. Inspectors will be able to review relevant attendance records more conveniently during visits, helping authorities assess whether establishments are complying with applicable labor regulations.

The authority also emphasized that displaying the required information will contribute to creating a more organized workplace environment and ensuring that employers comply with labor laws. Employers have been urged to follow the new requirement and keep their electronic attendance records properly maintained for inspection purposes.
