Kuwait to restrict truck movement during peak hours from September 1

Kuwait will introduce new restrictions on the movement of trucks during peak traffic hours from September 1 as authorities seek to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow on major roads and highways.

Under the new arrangement, trucks will face movement restrictions during the busiest morning and evening periods, when roads experience heavy traffic due to school and office commuting. The measure is intended to ease congestion on key routes and improve road safety for other motorists.

During the restricted periods, truck drivers will be required to wait at designated parking areas or approved locations rather than using major roads and highways. Authorities have urged truck owners and drivers to understand the new timings and plan their journeys accordingly.

Officials also warned that legal action will be taken against truck drivers who violate the restrictions by driving during prohibited hours. The new traffic arrangement is part of broader efforts to manage vehicle movement during peak periods and ensure smoother travel across Kuwait’s road network.
