Kuwait’s Ministry of Education has included details of Iranian attacks on the country during the Middle East conflict, along with Kuwait’s response, in the 10th-grade history textbook.
The information appears on pages 56 and 57 of the textbook, titled The State of Kuwait: The Journey and the Entity. According to Kuwait daily Al Qabas, the move is intended to strengthen patriotism and a sense of national unity among the younger generation.
The textbook describes the attacks as “sinful Iranian attacks” and presents them as violations of Kuwait’s sovereignty. It documents missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran and Iranian-backed groups, including strikes targeting energy and water facilities, Kuwait International Airport, the Public Institution for Social Security building, the ministries complex and residential areas.
The book also records the June 3 attack on Kuwait International Airport, in which an Indian passenger was killed and 63 people were injured. Photographs documenting the attack have also been included in the textbook.
Another incident covered in the book is the July 17 attack on a facility involved in water purification and power generation.
By incorporating the events into the national history curriculum, the Ministry of Education is presenting the attacks and Kuwait’s response as part of the country’s recent history, while emphasizing national solidarity and patriotism among students.
