Flight operations from the UAE have been disrupted again amid regional security concerns and adverse weather conditions, with several services canceled or delayed at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and Dubai International Airport.
At Abu Dhabi, several departing flights have been delayed. Air Arabia has canceled its services to Kuwait and Bahrain, while Etihad Airways continues to operate flights on both routes, although some departures from Abu Dhabi are facing delays.
In Dubai, Emirates is operating selected services to Kuwait and Bahrain, while delays have also been reported on some other international routes. Air France has also announced that its flights to and from Dubai will remain suspended until September 10, adding to difficulties for passengers traveling between the UAE and Europe.
Air travel between the UAE and Indonesia has also been affected by volcanic ash from Indonesia’s Anak Krakatau volcano. Aviation restrictions and schedule changes remain in place amid concerns over the impact of volcanic activity on air safety.
Heightened security concerns across the region are another factor affecting flight operations. Airlines have been adjusting schedules and routes cautiously amid ongoing tensions involving Iran and the United States, as well as broader security concerns affecting air and maritime routes.
With cancellations and delays leaving passengers facing extended waits at airports, travelers have been advised to check the latest status of their flights directly with their airlines before leaving for the airport. Passengers are also encouraged to allow additional travel time and follow any instructions issued by their carriers.
