The death toll from Typhoon Dujuan has risen to nine in Japan after the storm brought heavy rain and caused flooding and landslides in the greater Tokyo area earlier this week.
Japanese media reported on Wednesday that rescue teams were continuing to search for four people who remain missing in the neighboring prefectures of Chiba and Kanagawa.
Four deaths had been reported on Tuesday as authorities continued rescue and recovery operations in areas affected by the storm.
Dujuan, the 25th typhoon of the season, has since moved out over the Pacific after causing significant damage in parts of eastern Japan.
Chiba was among the worst-affected areas, with landslides and flooding reported following the heavy rainfall. Rescue teams have continued efforts to locate missing people and assess damage in affected communities.
Authorities have been carrying out emergency response and recovery operations as the region deals with the aftermath of the storm.
