WOMEN ENLIST IN KUWAITI ARMY, U S AMBASADDOR SAID IT WAS A LEAP FORWARD TO PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY

Kuwait City: US Ambassador to Kuwait Alina Romanovsky has said that the military entry of women in Kuwait is another leap forward for gender equality in Kuwait. "For the first time in the history of the country, women joining the military reflect the vision of the political leadership to promote equality." Romanovsky tweeted. 


Sheikh Hamad Jaber al-Ali al-Sabah, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, issued a cabinet decision yesterday to allow women to join the Kuwaiti army. The decision is to ensure that women, like men, are represented in the military for national security. 

Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al Ali has stated that based on this decision, Kuwaiti women will be able to work in the Kuwaiti Army as Specialty Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, Medical Services and Military Support Services.
