Manama: Bahrain has rolled out free bus and golf cart services for the public during Ashura, marking the tenth day of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic Hijri year.

The special transport services, which began yesterday, will run on six major routes to facilitate travel to and from the Revival Center in Manama, and will continue operating until the night of Ashura.

The initiative was inaugurated by Yousef Al Saleh, Chairman of the Board of the Jafari Waqf Directorate, in the presence of Vice Chairman Abdul Jalil Al Tarif and Majid Taher, General Manager of Al Sadiq, the contracted transport company.

Main stations for the free buses include:

Jidafs: Aldayh and Jidass Intersection

Al Bilad Al Khadim: Al Khamis Intersection

Al Burhama: Near Siam Garage

Salmaniya: Near Hyatt Plaza Mall

Al-Qaful: Near Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque

In observance of Ashura, Saturday and Sunday (the 9th and 10th of Muharram) are public holidays in Bahrain. Since Saturday is an official holiday, Monday, July 7, has been declared a substitute holiday for government ministries, departments, and public institutions.

The Jafari Endowments Directorate emphasized that the free transportation aims to support community members and ensure smooth access to religious gatherings during the Ashura season.
