Kuwait City: Kuwaiti photographer Majad Al Sabi has won the British Museum of Animal Prize for Animal Portrait. Al-Sabi said the award was given to a 40-year-old mountain gorilla named Kibande, who was shot in Uganda. The picture was taken after a four-hour trek up and down the hill on foot.

He pointed out that these gorillas are endangered due to encroachment on their habitat and deforestation. Many organizations are making great efforts to protect this species. The two winners were selected from more than 50,000 entries received from 95 countries.
