AMBASSADOR SIBI GEORGE SAYS THERE ARE NO INTERMEDIARIES OR AGENTS AT THE EMBASSY OR PASSPORT SERVICE CENTRES

Kuwait City: A monthly open house was organized at the Indian Embassy. The event was inaugurated by Indian Ambassador Sibi George and was attended by representatives of prominent organizations and cultural activists in Kuwait. Ambassador Sibi George said that the whole world was in a better atmosphere and that Kuwait was slowly surviving the covid epidemic. Life in the country is returning to normal. Schools are open. Travel restrictions have been lifted. Employees of most companies return to work. He said that with the commencement of air service, people started returning home on leave. 


Sibi George thanked the Kuwaiti administration, government and people for successfully handling the covid pandemic situation. He also urged the people to be vigilant and follow all the precautions and guidelines related to covid and to get vaccinated if there are any who have not been vaccinated. The ambassador said that the authorities had brought to the notice of the authorities those who were stranded in India without being able to take covaxin, high air fares, problems related to accreditation of engineers, recruitment of nurses and domestic workers and hoped that it would be resolved soon. 

Embassy Intermediaries and Government Schemes for Immigrants were discussed at the open house. Sibi George said there were no intermediaries or agents at the embassy or passport service centers and that embassy officials could be contacted for any difficulties. There are currently 11 WhatsApp numbers available in full for the public to contact the embassy team directly. The Ambassador added that any Indian expatriate in the country can lodge a complaint in their own language and action will be taken immediately on the complaint. Due to the need for police verification, there is a delay in renewing the passport. The ambassador asked those applying for a passport renewal to apply for a new passport at least three months in advance instead of a last-minute renewal. As part of the introduction of State Government Schemes for Expatriates, the Head of NORKA and Principal Secretary, Industry, Dr. K. Elangovan IAS, CEO Harikrishnan Namboothiri and NORKA Routes General Manager Ajith Kolassery explained about NORKA projects.
