Kuwait : The Deputy Director-General for Environmental Control Affairs Sector at the Environment Public Authority, Samira Al-Kandari, announced that the percentage of greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector in Kuwait in general is estimated at about 18% of the country’s total emissions, according to the authority’s last census for 2016.

Al-Kandari said in a statement to "Al-Anbaa" that Kuwait City has the highest level of emissions from the transport sector due to the density, especially at peak times, where the Mansouriya station detects the highest concentrations of vehicle exhaust, noting that one of the solutions to reduce emissions from the transport sector It lies in the use of electric cars, as it is considered one of the successful solutions to reduce greenhouse gases generated by road transport in all countries of the world.She stressed that the Environment Public Authority supports projects that would reduce emissions from all major sources, especially the land transport sector, by supporting the concerned authorities in the country to enact legislation to increase the number of electric cars.

Al-Kandari had participated in the first exhibition of electric cars held in Al-Morouj, which aims to spread this culture through various activities that lasted for three days.
