KUWAIT CITY,: The issue of residence renewal for expats over the age of 60 is still awaiting a government solution, according to sources, who revealed that the Ministry of Interior continues to grant temporary extensions to expats in this category whose residence permits are about to expire.

According to Al Rai, the decision to prohibit the renewal of work permits for non-graduate expats over the age of sixty remains on the Public Authority for Manpower systems, so expats in this category cannot renew their residence.
On humanitarian grounds, the Ministry of Interior has granted temporary residence ranging from one month to three months.

Those on temporary residence are advised not to leave the country; doing so will result in the loss of residence, and expats will be unable to return to Kuwait on the same visa.
