KUWAIT CITY –The government's recent health-related decisions in an extraordinary meeting raised concerns about what might happen if the new variant of coronavirus – omicron – spreads throughout the country, according to Al-Qabas daily.

According to government sources, there is no plan to close commercial facilities if the new variant spreads due to the availability of vaccines, a high vaccination rate, and strict enforcement of health regulations.

Sources also clarified that if omicron spreads, measures will be taken, including reducing the number of employees reporting for work or reintroducing the remote work system and online education; and no one will be allowed to enter closed places without a mask.
