Expats can now renew their driver's licenses online

KUWAIT : According to Al-Rai daily, the General Traffic Department has restarted the online service for renewing expatriate driving permits, which had been suspended for a few days. According to well-informed security sources, the General Traffic Department has halted expatriate driving licence renewals, whether online or in person, and only allows citizens, Gulf nationals, bedoun, and house drivers (Article 20) resident holders to renew their licences "online."

According to the sources, the GTD took this measure to regulate the procedures for renewing expatriate driver's licences and guarantee that they meet with the necessary conditions for granting driving licences, as multiple parties had been involved in fraud and forgery in some cases.
