HEALTH MINISTER DR KHALID AL SAEED SAID THAT PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS DO NOT POSE A MAJOR THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY

Kuwait City: Minister of Health Dr. Khalid Al Saeed has said that people with mental health problems do not pose a major threat to public safety, according to various studies. Earlier, Badr al-Humaidi, a member of parliament, told the government that expatriates with mental illness were a threat to the Kuwaiti community and that anyone with symptoms of mental illness should be barred from entering the country. 


The MP said that the drugs given to the mentally ill are widely sold among the youth in Kuwait and are being used as drugs. The Health Minister was responding to questions raised by him in this regard. He added that no decision had been taken regarding the deportation of expatriates due to mental health issues. Badr al-Humaidi has previously made similar demands.
