COMPLAINTS ARE RISING ON RENEWAL OF WORK PERMIT FOR 60 YEARS OLD IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: After several crises, the university has started renewing work permits for expatriates over the age of 60 who have not graduated. The fee for renewing the permit for one year is 250 dinars. In addition to the fee, expatriates are required to take out a health insurance policy as per the rules and regulations of the Supreme Committee on Insurance Regulatory Unit No. (2/2022).

However, a large number of expatriates are complaining about the renewal of work permits. They point out that they had to pay 50 dinars in annual health insurance fees to renew their work permits. The condition of health insurance of 500 dinars was to renew the work permit of expatriates over 60 years of age.

The expatriates said that in addition to the fee approved by the Manpower Authority at the rate of 250 dinars, they had to pay an annual fee of 10 dinars to renew the permit. Workers are finding it difficult to renew work permits for non-university graduates over the age of 60, as well as the old rates.
