Kuwait City: The Public Authority for Manpower has linked more professions of residents in the country to academic qualifications in order to regulate the labour market and prevent marginal workers from obtaining designations that would allow them to benefit from various benefits linked to the titles of work permits. PAM has introduced six new job titles to the work permits: swimming lifeguard, diving instructor, scuba diving instructor, water skiing coach, and water skiing supervisor. The commission indicated that the person must hold a higher education certificate and a diploma in the corresponding discipline in order to be granted these titles.

The number of scientific titles recognised has surpassed the 1,800 professions registered with the authority's automated system, and more titles are expected to be added in the coming months. The linked names are from the Gulf Manual for Professional Description and Employment, which includes 4,109 vocations. PAM also stated that work is being done to identify occupational titles in the labour market, link them to automated systems, and assess the need based on the issued licences, indicating that this procedure is part of the GCC countries' commitment to standardise the names and symbols of their professions in the labour market.
