Kuwait City: In its regular session on Wednesday, the National Assembly resumed to debate the government's programme for fiscal years 2021-2022 to 2024-2025. MPs underlined the importance of addressing pressing concerns such as education, health, housing, jobs, and demographic imbalance during the debate. The Silk City initiative, which has been on the government's agenda since 2007, according to MP Bader Al-Humaidi, is a huge deception. He noted that the project is still in limbo, and that it has yet to be implemented, even if the necessary funds are available. He went on to say that the government had filed another initiative, namely the development of Bubyan Island, which is still being studied by the parliamentary Financial and Economic Affairs Committee. So far, it has been found that the proposed projects should be established only on the periphery of the island because of the nature of its soil, he revealed.
