THE KUWAIT OIL WORKERS UNION BLAMES PETROL PUMP JOB ISSUES ON IMPROPER PRIVATISATION

Kuwait City: The Kuwait Oil Company trade union has blamed unscientific privatization for the job crisis at petrol pumps. The union said that the authorities had failed to assess the situation accurately and that the current crisis was due to the weakness of the study. Meanwhile, the union demanded that the government reconsider the privatization plan.

Locals commented that despite the long queues of vehicles at the pumps, it was surprising that those responsible did not take action and that in some countries the long queues for bread were reminiscent. Oula, which previously employed about 1,000 foreign workers, now employs only 350 people. Aula chairman Abdul Hussein al-Sultan said he was considering implementing a self-service solution to the crisis.
