FRONT-RAW CATERING CENTRES ARE BEING HAMPERED BY A CHICKEN SHORTAGE

Kuwait City: It appears that the chicken shortage crisis is no longer limited to traditional ration card holders, but has also included so-called frontline workers who are eligible for free rationing for a limited time because the relevant authority is running low on these products and must temporarily halt the exercise until the commodity is available.


According to informed sources, many frontline employees were told when they visited supply facilities that they could not be entertained at the moment owing to a lack of chicken items, which is part of the product handed to them on ration.

 The officials at the distribution centers were then asked to disburse the rest of the goods, and carry forward the chicken quota to another item depending on availability. However, the officials are said to have rejected their request, on the pretext that according to the disbursing system all the goods specified must be distributed in one lot and if any one of the products is not available, the entire package will be disbursed at a later time.
