NOON WORK PROHIBITION, 50 VIOLATIONS FOUND IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: The Manpower Authority's decision to open to the sun at midday and prohibit employment in the region has taken effect. The judgement went into effect yesterday. Manpower Authority inspection teams have also began workplace inspections. On the first day, 40 violations were discovered that did not comply with the ruling. 47.5 percent are construction employees. 


The rest are domestic workers. Hamad al-Makhiel, who led the inspection, said violations had been found in the area of ​​South Abdullah al-Mubarak, where the construction of several buildings was in progress. By law, working in open areas from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. is restricted. The authority has decided to conduct strict inspections in the next three months to see if this provision is being implemented.
