THE AVERAGE MONTHLY WAGE OF KUWAITIS IS HIGHER THAN THAT OF KUWAITI WOMEN IN GOVERNMENT SECTOR

Kuwait City: In the government sector, the average income disparity between Kuwaiti males and females has widened in favour of males over the last five years, from 2016 to 2021.


According to the latest labor market figures released by the Central Administration of Statistics at the end of last week, the wage difference between Kuwaiti males and females in the government sector grew to 30% in December 2021, up from 27% in December 2016.

 According to statistical data, the average monthly income for Kuwaiti males in the government sector was 1874 dinars at the end of December 2021, while the average monthly wage for Kuwaiti females in the same period was 1,312 dinars, a difference of 562 dinars, or 30%.

According to the same statistics from the end of December 2016, the average monthly wage for Kuwaiti males in the government sector was 1726 dinars per month, while the average monthly wage for Kuwaiti females was 1254 dinars per month, a difference of 427 dinars, or 27%.
