GOVERNMENT EMPLOYED 4,191 PEOPLE IN 12 AGENCIES WITHIN 3 MONTHS IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: Official data revealed that 4,191 citizens and residents were appointed to 12 government agencies during the first 3 months of this year, while the number of workers in 5 other agencies decreased by 272 jobs at the end of last March.


According to recent figures issued by the Central Administration of Statistics, the net number of workers in 17 government agencies, including citizens and residents, increased by 3,919 during the first 3 months of this year, as the number of workers in those agencies reached about 336.84 thousand citizens and residents at the end of March 2022, compared to 332.93 thousand at the end of December 2021.

The Ministry of Education recorded the highest number of appointments, as it acquired 1,790 new appointees, followed by the Ministry of Electricity and Water with 930 new appointees, then the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs with 571 employees, the Ministry of Works with 377 employees, and the Ministry of Health with a total of 373 employees.

The data showed that the net number of Emiratis appointed to the 17 government agencies amounted to 3,535, as their number increased from 264.65 thousand male and female citizens last December to 268.18 thousand male and female citizens by the end of March 2022.

The data included an increase in the net number of expatriates working in the government by about 384 expatriates in the first 3 months of this year, their number increased from 68,279 thousand in December to 68.66 thousand at the end of March.

At the top of the list of entities that appointed expatriates during the last period was the Ministry of Health, which appointed about 351 newcomers, bringing the number of expatriate workers from 34.18 thousand in December to 34.53 at the end of last March, followed by the Ministry of Education with 122 new appointments, bringing their number to 26,886 thousand at the end of last March. March, compared to 26,764 thousand at the end of last December, while 9 out of 17 regions witnessed a decline in the number of expatriates working in them.
