KUWAIT HAS NO INTENTIONS TO RAISE FUEL PRICES

Kuwait City: Since fuel costs are currently among the lowest in the world, the administration has no intention of implementing the advice of international economic institutions to raise them in order to keep up with global pricing and to support State budget resources.


The Ministry of Finance-led Government Subsidy Review Committee does not, according to the source, have anything planned regarding the rise in petrol prices. He revealed that the committee studies market conditions to compare them with the value of subsidies, evaluates subsidies to decide whether they should be increased, decreased, or awarded to certain groups, and submits its recommendations and judgments to the Council of Ministers.
