OVER 1 MILLION WORK VISAS RENEWED AND 30,000 NEW WORK VISAS ISSUED

Kuwait City: According to 174 electronic services, 90% of the Public Authority for Manpower's services are now automated, according to Bushra Selim, head of the Operations Department at the Information Systems Center. In a television interview, Selim claimed that PAM had renewed 1.27 million resident work permits over the course of the previous year using the "Ashal" electronic system, in addition to issuing 30,000 new permits. 


As part of efforts to link all government institutions and begin linking with Arab and Gulf countries to help prevent fraud and verify the accuracy of data, she stated that the authority is about to implement a new mechanism for issuing new work files, which will be done by linking with the Ministry of Commerce. She also noted that the link has currently been completed with 20 government agencies. Badra Al-Mutairi, Director of the National Employment Platform Project in the Authority's Employment Department, responded that the authority is working to take measures that will allow local workers who are hesitant to apply for jobs in the private sector to change their minds and directly fill the positions that companies are offering through the platform.
