31 PERCENT INCREASE IN DRUG CASES, 2,382 CASES REGISTERED IN KUWAIT IN 2021

Kuwait City: According to reports, there was a 31 percent increase in drug cases in the country last year. 2382 cases were registered in 2021. In 2020, there were only 1820 cases. According to the report prepared by the Department of Information Technology and Statistics of the Ministry of Justice under the leadership of Assistant Undersecretary Syed Hashim Al Khallaf, there has been an increase of 30.9 percent.


The total number of crimes in 2020 was 5,473 cases. This increased to 6,318 cases in 2021. There have been 845 cases or an increase of 15.4 percent. Similarly, the crime of kidnapping and detention increased from 202 cases in 2020 to 252 cases in 2021. In relation to bank crimes, 1,099 cases were registered in 2020. In 2021, it increased to 1145 cases. 2650 cases came to Juvenile Prosecution.
