SHOPS SHOULD CLOSE AT 12 MIDNIGHT IN PRIVATE HOUSING AREAS ; KUWAIT MUNCIPALITY

Kuwait City: Kuwait Municipality Director General Engineer Ahmed Al Manfuhi has issued an administrative decision regarding the opening hours of shops located in residential areas of all six governorates of the country, except for pharmacies and supermarkets affiliated with cooperatives, which may only operate until 12 midnight. 


The proposal applies to all shops located in private housing areas, including residential real estate, branches of cooperative societies, public transport stations and commercial blocks, except central markets of cooperative societies and pharmacies. In the wake of the new decision, some firms had requested for exemptions. Sources said that they need to get approval from the Home Ministry.
