Kuwait City: According to statistics released by the relevant authority, Kuwait's total imports of different goods and materials increased by 12% from 2020 to the end of last year, reaching 9.6 billion dinars, up from 8.5 billion dinars. With a total export value to Kuwait of 1.7 billion dinars, China came out on top of the list of the top ten exporting nations, followed by the UAE with a value of about 1.1 billion dinars, up from 715 million dinars in 2020.

With an estimated 888 million dinars in imports last year, automobiles were the most popular product (about 3 billion dollars). Consumer goods, which made up about 47% of all imports in the previous year, were followed in importance by intermediate goods, which were imported at a cost of 3.5 billion dinars, and primary production goods, which were imported at a cost of 1.3 billion dinars.

Primary production goods, such as transportation equipment, industrial equipment, and other production equipment, were Kuwait's most significant imports during the previous year. Their value decreased by 7% to 1.3 billion dinars in 2021 from 1.4 billion dinars in 2020, indicating a decline in the nation's industrial activity. Intermediate goods, such as "raw" food and beverages prepared for industrial use, industrial sundries, and industrial chemicals were also significant imports.
